This tour takes you on a delightful journey through the Comarca de la Sidra, or cider region, where you will have the opportunity to explore three of the most beautiful villages in Spain. The first stop on our itinerary is the charming village of Lastres/Llastres, a picturesque fishing town that exudes old-world charm. Its narrow streets and colorful houses create a postcard-perfect setting that will surely capture your heart.

Continuing our adventure, we will visit Tazones, another enchanting fishing village that boasts a unique character. As you stroll along its waterfront promenade, you'll be captivated by the idyllic scenery and the peaceful atmosphere that permeates the air. Both Lastres and Tazones offer a glimpse into the traditional maritime lifestyle, allowing you to immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Our tour then takes us to Torazo/Torazu, a typical Asturian rural village nestled amidst breathtaking natural landscapes. Here, you will have the chance to experience the authentic rural life of Asturias. The village's picturesque setting, surrounded by rolling green hills, invites you to explore its quaint streets and admire the traditional architecture that reflects the region's history and traditions.

As we travel along the Costa Verde, also known as the Green Coast, you will be treated to awe-inspiring views of one of Spain's best-preserved stretches of coastline. The Costa Verde's untouched beauty and pristine beaches are sure to leave a lasting impression, allowing you to reconnect with nature and soak in the tranquility of this remarkable coastal region.

If time permits, we highly recommend a visit to La Griega Beach (Playa de la Griega) to witness the fascinating dinosaur footprints preserved in its rocky surface. It's a unique opportunity to step back in time and marvel at the remnants of prehistoric life that once inhabited this area.

Alternatively, you can explore the church of San Salvador de Valdediós, an exquisite example of Asturian pre-Romanesque architecture. This hidden gem showcases intricate craftsmanship and historical significance, providing a glimpse into the region's rich cultural heritage.

Throughout this tour, you will have the chance to immerse yourself in the natural beauty, cultural heritage, and authentic charm of the Comarca de la Sidra, ensuring an unforgettable journey through some of Spain's most beautiful destinations.

Villaviciosa las manzanas

  • El gran sueño - Lastres: 45 mins / 25.5 km

We start the tour on the AS-258 road towards Colunga. This windy road has spectacular views of the Asturian mountains. It goes up to the Alto de La Llama (where there is an entry to the Sierra del Sueve) and then down to Colunga. Here we take the AS-257 to Lastres.

In Lastres, especially in the summer, we recommend parking at the top, next to the Chapel of San Roque, where there is a free carpark. You can also park in the port, where there is more free parking, but spaces are rare. Near the Chapel of San Roque there is a viewpoint to enjoy beautiful views of the coast and this fishing town. We recommend walking down to the port, getting lost in the streets. It is the best way to appreciate the complicated urban fabric. Once in the port, walk to the end of either of the two dams for good views of Lastres. If you decide to eat in Lastres, we recommend El Cafetín.

  • Lastres - Tazones: 30 mins / 28 km

From Lastres you head toward Villaviciosa and Tazones by the AS-257 first and then by the A-8 (N-632 if you decided to visit the Playa de Rodiles). In Tazones we recommend parking in the car park at the entrance of the town, on the right. Tazones is much smaller than Lastres but has many more restaurants, specialising in fish and seafood. Our favourite restaurant is the Rompeolas, the last tavern on the left.

  •  Tazones - Torazo: 30 mins / 25 km

In Torazo we recommend leaving the car at the end of town, next to the Hostería and the chapel. From here you can walk to the church through its cobbled streets, enjoying its traditional rural architecture of hórreos (granaries) and well-kept houses with their typical galleries and balconies. If you want to have a drink here, we recommend the café of the Hostería de Torazo.

  •  Torazo - El gran sueño: 20 mins / 8 km

From Torazo to el gran sueño take and enjoy the charming road AS-334.

Extra alternative visits:

  • Playa de la Griega (+ 1km + 2mins round trip): go and check the dinosaur footprints at the end of the beach or walk the coastal path to La Isla
  • Faro de Luces (+ 4.5km + 10min round trip): from here you can enjoy spectacular views of the Green Coast
  • Playa de Rodiles (+ 9.5km + 15min round trip): for a walk along the boardwalk, avoid in the summer months
  • Church and Monastery of San Salvador de Valdediós (+ 15km + 30 mins round trip): one of our favourite pre-Romanesque churches
