Canoeing down the river Sella

A popular activity with the locals and tourists alike, this is a great day trip. You meet at the Frontera Verde shop in Arriondas by 11am and they take you to the riverside and give you a quick lesson on controlling the canoe, then you set sail down the river. It is not deep nor super fast flowing, but you do get great views of the mountains from a standpoint you cannot otherwise see. There are chiringuitos (bars) on route so you can stop off for a beer. Frontera Verde throw in a picnic lunch to keep you going. The route is either 7 or 14 km long. We recommend the full trip to make the most of it. You are collected at the other end and taken back to Arriondas. Duration is 3-6 hours, depending on number of stops.

This is a really popular option to see rivers and streams in their natural forms.
