Sustainability at El Gran Sueño is not a mere afterthought; it's in our DNA. Initiated during our construction phase, we've woven eco-friendliness into every aspect of our business.
In 2021, with the help of the RD 477/2021. Incentive program for the implementation of renewable energy sources, we elevated our commitment by installing solar panels. These marvels now contribute 40% of our power directly, while an additional 50% is stored in a virtual battery, thanks to our electricity provider. Yes, we're nearly 100% green energy self-sufficient! #PlandeRecuperación
At El Gran Sueño, we're proud to embrace eco-friendly technology for heating our hotel and apartments. In the hotel, we utilise ground source heat pump technology. This system harnesses the earth's natural heat, providing efficient and sustainable warmth. This is particularly effective when combined with our underfloor heating, ensuring an even distribution of heat and a cosy atmosphere throughout.
For the apartments, we've chosen air source heat pumps. These units extract warmth from the outside air, a renewable resource, to heat the apartments efficiently. Like in the hotel, this system is coupled with underfloor heating, offering not just comfort but also energy efficiency.
Together, these technologies, along with our solar panels, significantly reduce the environmental impact of our energy use. This makes El Gran Sueño not just a comfortable place to stay, but also a champion of sustainable practices in the beautiful Asturian countryside.
